Lady Eagles 15

Salado Lady Eagles hammered Gatesville Lady Hornets 15-0, whacking 15 hits over the span of four innings March 1.

Malory Schattle led the offensive attack, going three-for-three, scoring three runs and knocking in four runners. SChattle hit two triples and a homer.

SHe led off the bottom of the first with a triple, scoring on a single by Rebecca Dockray. Jenna Calder reached on a walk and scored on passed balls for a 2-0 lead after on.

Lindy Martin walked to lead off the bottom of the second, going to second on a passed ball. She scored on a single by Bailey Tindell. Tindell stole second and scored on a booming homer to left by Schattle for two runs and a 5-0 lead.

The Lady Eagles sent 13 batters to the plate in the third inning, with nine of them scoring runs.

Dockray doubled to start the onslaught, scoring on a double by Madeline Murray. Payton Dreitz singled to plate Murray. Meagan Hill walked and runners advanced on a passed ball. Lindy Martin walked to load the bases and two runners scored on an error by the catcher.  Bailey Tindell singled and Abbie James singled putting runners at the corners.

Both runners scored on a triple to deep left by Schattle. Schattle scored ona ground out. Murray hit a triple in her second appearance at the plate that inning, scoring on a single by Dreitz.

Abbie James scored the final run in the game in the fourth inning. She doubled and went to third on a passed ball. Sche scored on a single by Calder for the 15-0 lead.

Tindell faced 18 batters in the win for Salado. She struck out six batters and allowed two hits and a walk.
