Salado goes 3-1 in Christmas break Thorndale Tournament
The girls won the Consolation Prize in the Thorndale Tournament over the Christmas break, going 3-1 overall. The girls lost to Academy 37-48 and beat Caldwell, 50-18, Crawford, 35-24 and Rogers 40-35.

The Lady Eagles were within just a point of the Academy Lady Bees in the first quarter of their first round game in the tournament, but the Bees went on to win 37-48 over the Christmas break.
Sarah Kelarek led the girls in scoring with 19 points, including 13 points in the fourth quarter. She shot three three-pointers and shot seven of eight at the free throw line.
Also scoring for Salado were Payton Dreitz and Taylor Lowrance, five points each, Kerrigan Hearne, four points, Brianna Washington and Kayla Manning, two points each.

Caldwell 18
Salado bounced back from the loss to crush Caldwell 50-18 in the second round of the tournament.
Salado scored 25 points in each half of the game. Other than the second quarter, the Salado defense held Caldwell to four points or less in each quarter.
Sarah Kelarek scored 16 points in less than three quarters of play to lead Salado.
Also scoring for Salado were Kerrigan Hearne, nine points, Payton Dreitz, five points, Gema Vitolas and Kayla Manning, four points each, Kierstan Osborn and Danielle McDaniel, three points each and Taylor Lowrance, Brianna Washington and Lexi Lima, two points each. Read more here.

Salado breezed past the Crawford Lady Pirates in the third round of the tournament 35-24.
Sarah Kelarek led the scoring with 11 points. Kerrigan Hearne hit three three-pointed to follow with nine points.
Also scoring for Salado were Payton Dreitz, six points, Kayla Manning, four points, Kierstan Osborn and Gema Vitolas, two points each and Taylor Lowrance, one point.

Rogers 35
Salado Lady Eagles held off their namesakes from Rogers 40-35 in the consolation game of the Thorndale tournament.
In a low-scoring first quarter, Salado led 6-3 and held on for a 20-11 halftime lead. Rogers scored 16 points in the third quarter, but trailed 32-27 going into the final period.
No Salado Lady Eagle reached double figures, but eight girls scored in the final game.
Sarah Kelarek led the squad with eight points.
Kayla Manning, Taylor Lowrance and Brianna Washington all scored six points.
Also scoring were Kerrigan Hearne, five points, Gema Vitolas, four points, Kierstan Osborn, three points and Payton Dreitz, two points.
