Salado Lady Eagles varsity soccer team defeated Taylor 3-0 on April 2 to become Area Champions.
Salado will face the Wimberley Lady Texans in the Regional Quarterfinal Round at 7 p.m. April 5 at Manor ISD Athletic Complex, located at 14832 FM973 in Manor.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. The following passes will be accepted at the game: District 27-4A, 28-4A, TEHSCA, TGCA, TASCO, Senior Citizen and Faculty ID for Salado and Wimberley ISDs.
Against Taylor Lady Ducks, the Lady Eagles came out strong and took the lead 6 minutes into the game on a goal from Grace Graham.
Salado added a goal two minutes before halftime with Hannah Reavis scoring on an assist by Presly Maddux.
In the second half, Salado continued to push and increased the lead in the 68th minute to 3-0 on a goal from Caelan Teer that was assisted by Aubrey Heffner.
The shutout was recorded by Avery Wright.
Lady Eagles Bi-District Champs beating Bandera Lady Bulldogs
Salado Lady Eagles beat Bandera Lady Bulldogs in the Bi-District Round of the 4A Soccer playoffs on March 28.
The girls won the game 1-0.
It was a back and forth game from start to finish but the Lady Eagles were able to capitalize on a first half opportunity to go up 1-0 and earn the victory.
The goal was scored by Allison Carnahan and assisted by Hannah Reavis.
Avery Wright earned the shutout in goal.
The girls faced Taylor in the Area Round of the playoffs. The game was played after press time for this edition.
