Salado Lady Eagles won three of five games in the Polk City Tournament Nov. 21-23, beating Olney, Clyde and El Paso Franklin and losing to Stevens and Abilene in the first two days. The varsity girls are 6-4 on the year.

Salado lost 43-33 to Stevens in the first day of the Polk City Tournament on Nov. 21.
Stevens shut down Salado in the first quarter 3-0. The teams were tied 11-11 at the half before Stevens exploded for 24 -points in the third to take a 35-20 lead. Salado cut into the lead in the fourth, scoring 13 points and holding Stevens to 8 points.
Amanda Cantu led the girls with 10 points, followed by Katie Law, 9 points, Lorena Perez, 8 points and Abby Rembert, 3 points.

Abilene 52
Salado lost to Abilene 52-48 on Nov. 22, giving up a 5-point halftime lead.
Kaia Philen scored 7 points in the second as Salado overcame a 16-8 first quarter deficit to lead 26-21 at the half. Abilene outscored Salado 17-7 in the third and held on for the win.
Philen and Law led Salado with 12 points each. Also scoring for Salado were Perez, 10 points, Reese Preston and Cantu, 5 points each and Priscilla Torczynski, 4 points.

Olney 13
Salado allowed just 4 points by Olney in the second half in their rout on Nov. 22, winning 59-13.
The Lady Eagles dominated Olney, scoring 20 points in the first quarter and 15 in the second for a 35- 15 lead.
Preston scored 15 points to lead Salado in her best performance of the season so far. Rembert followed with 11 points.
Also scoring for Salado were Perez, 9 points, Law, 8 points, Philen, 6 points, Janiah Del Rio and Maddie Wade, 3 points each and Megan Manibuson and Torczynski, 2 points each.

Clyde 23
Salado continued its dominance on Nov. 23 with a convincing 62-23 win over Clyde in the Polk City Tournament.
The Lady Eagles held Clyde to a single bucket in the first quarter, taking an 18-2 lead. Salado led 34-12 at the half and 50-16 at the end of the third quarter.
Rembert saw action in all four quarters and led Salado with 18 points, hitting four three-pointers.
Preston also hit four three-pointers to score 12 points.
Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Philen, 9 points, Perez, 7 points, Del Rio, 6 points, Manibuson and Law, 3 points each and Julie Booker and Wade, 2 points each.

El Paso Franklin 46
Salado exploded for 31 points in the first half to lead El Paso Franklin in their final game in the Polk City Tournament Nov. 23, holding on to win 49-46.
Salado trailed Franklin 14-11 after the first but poured in 20 points in the second with three-pointers by Cantu, Preston and Philen to lead 31-22 at the half. Despite being outscored in the second half, Salado held on for the win.
The girls led 39-34 after the third, and scored 10 points in the fourth while Franklin scored 12.
Cantu hit three three-pointers on her way to a 13-point performance to lead Salado.
Perez followed with 11 points, shooting five-of-seven at the free throw line.
Also scoring for Salado were Philen, 10 points, Rembert, 7 points, Preston, 4 points, and Torczynski and Law, 2 points each.
