Brownwood hands Salado 37-57 defeat

Salado Lady Eagles lost to Brownwood 37-57 on Dec. 15 in a non-district basketball game.

Brownwood held the Lady Eagles to just six points in the first quarter to take a 14-6 lead. They added 19 points in the second quarter while Salado scored 16 points for a 22-33 halftime lead. Salado trailed 46-32 after three quarters.

Sarah Kelarek scored 11 points, six of them at the free throw line, to lead the Lady Eagles.

Payton Dreitz followed with 10 points, four from the free throw line.

Also scoring were Kerrigan Hearne, nine points including two three-pointers, Taylor Lowrance, four points and Brianna Washington, three points.
