Lorena Lady Leopards exploded for 22 points in the second quarter to take a 37-17 lead over Salado, going on to win 65-42 on Jan. 4 in Lorena.

Lorena scored 15 points in the third while Salado added 18 points. The Lady Leopards added 13 points in the fourth, while Salado scored just seven points, all from the free throw line.

Taylor Lowrance led the girls with 11 points. Sarah Kelarek followed with nine points.

Also scoring for the girls were Kerrigan Hearne, eight points, Gema Vitolas and Kayla Manning, five points, Kierstan Osborn, three points and Brianna Washington, one point.
