Salado started the season with a three-set sweep of Troy in a home match on Aug. 8, winning 25-14, 25-22 and 25-17.

Fort, DeKay and Heiner each had two aces at the serving line. Hearne and Robinson had one each.

Hearne led the defense with 12 digs, followed by Heiner, seven, Fort, five, Robinson, three, Martin, two and DeKay, one.

DeKay led the girls in attacking the net, scoring 11 kills on 23 attempts. Robinson had 10 kills on 27 attempts. Also scoring kills were Washington, Vaillancourt and Fuller, four each and Fort, one.

Vaillancourt had four solo blocks and six assisted blocks. Washington followed with two solo blocks and an assisted block.

Scoring assisted blocks were Martin and DeKay, two each and Jamie Rich, Washington, Robinson and Fuller, one each.
