Salado Lady Eagle Softball team starts district this week after taking first in the Silver Bracket of the Franklin Tournament March 1 and 3, where the girls faced six good teams.
Lady Eagles 6
Caldwell 9
Junior pitcher Becca Dockray was issued the first-round loss against Caldwell on March 1, as Salado fell 6-9.
Piper Randolph came in to close the game, getting two strikeouts.
Freshman Reese Preston led the girls at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 3 RBI.
Sophomore Breigh Oliver also went 2-for-2 and had an RBI.
Randolph was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Sophomore Chris Wilson was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Randolph and Oliver had two steals each in the game.
Lady Eagles 6
Milano 2
Salado bounced back from the loss to beat Milano 6-2. Senior pitcher Bailey Tindell threw eight strikeouts to earn the win on the mound for Salado.
Dockray led the girls at the plate, going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.
Wilson was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI.
Freshman Rylee Oborski was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI. She also stole three bases.
Sophomores Erin Faske, Liz Ford, Wilson and Oliver all had stolen bases in the game.

Bruceville-Eddy 1
Salado smoked Bruceville-Eddy 11-1 in the third round of the tournament. Tindell and Randolph each had a strikeout as Tindell got the win and Randolph came in to close.
Oliver was 2-for-2 knocking in an RBI and scoring three runs.
Wilson hit a home run as she went 2-for-3 at the plate. She had 3 RBIs and scored three runs.
Sophomore Marissa Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.
Oliver and Faske stole three bases while Dockray and Randolph stole two bases each.

A&M Cons. JV 0
The Lady Eagles crushed A&M Consolidated JV squad 20-0 in the fourth round with Tindell pitching four strikeouts for the win. Randolph pitched in relief with one strikeout.
Preston led the team at the plate as she went 2-for-3 and knocked in 3 RBI.
Oliver batted 3-for-3 and stole four bases.
Wilson was 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Dockray was 2-for-3, stealing five bases.
Faske batted 1-for-1, earned two walks and stole three bases.
Senior Abbie James was 1-for-2 and stole two bases.
Salado 4
Milano 3
Salado beat Milano 4-3 in an international tie-breaker. Faske scored the winning run on an error.
Dockray pitched nine strikeouts in earning the win on the mound.
Oliver was 1-for-3, leading the team with three steals.
Wilson was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Freshman Janiah Del Rio was 1-for-3.
Freshman Amanda Cantu was 1-for-2.
Ford was 1-for-2.
Faske had a stolen base and scored the winning run on an error.

Blooming Grove 4
The Lady Eagles breezed past Blooming Grove 14-4 in the Championship Game.
Dockray had six strikeouts in the win on the mound.
She led the girls, batting 3-for-3 with three RBI.
Wilson and Ford were 3-for-4 at the plate.
Ford, Del Rio and Oborski each knocked in 2 RBI.
Preston and Faske had 1 RBI each.
In the tournament, the girls had 48 steals.
