Mildred “Cricket” Jones

Mildred “Cricket” Jones passed away June 19, 2013. She was  born March 15, 1929 in Shreveport LA to John and Mildred Marston. 

She graduated from SMU in 1951 and lived in Highland Park, South Padre Island and Salado, TX.  She tirelessly served and volunteered wherever and she lived and left an impact on everyone she met.  Cricket loved living in Salado where she operated several different antique shops and was especially proud of her involvement with the Salado Historical Society, The Salado Village Artists and the Chamber of Commerce Ladies Auxiliary. 

She was preceded in death by her best friend and former husband Bill Jones and is survived by her sons Rob, Jeff and wife Liz, Adam, 2 grandchildren Bryce and Chelsea Jones, Brother John and wife Gini Marston, Sister Andy and husband Brad Phair and a host of relatives and friends. 

Services will be held at the Salado United Methodist Church on July 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM.  A reception celebrating Cricket’s life will be held in Dallas at John & Gini’s, 6161 Sul Ross, on July 27 from 4 to 6 PM.  Please e-mail cricketjones29@gmail.com to request additional details.
