Milford passes away July 3 Services for Ross
Services for Thomas Milford, 71, of Salado were held July 7 at First Baptist Church of Salado with Brian Dunks and Andy Davis officiating. Burial followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes, TX, with Leonard Shanklin, of Luling, officiating. Milford passed away July 3.
He was born July 6, 1934, in Eastland County, TX to Clinton Coy Mil-ford and Minnie Jo Morgan Milford. He married Patricia Hand Milford on Aug. 4, 1956. He served in the Army in 1956-58.
Milford was a basketball coach (and other sports) for 37 years in San Antonio, Luling, Irving, Belton and Moody, as well as serving as assistant to Richard Herbst for the UMHB Men’s Basketball program. He also served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and by his son, Jeffrey Caly Milford, sister Jo Frances Box, and great-grand-daughter, Morgean Renea Kessler.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, of Salado; his mother, of Cleburne; two daughters, Gaye Cowell, of Belton and Stephanie Milford, of Bedford; three granddaughters, Shayne Sweeney, of College Station, Vanessa Byrd, of Belton, and Jessica Byrd, of Bedord; one grandson, Randy Kessler, of Cameron; three sisters, LaNell Adams, of Hillsboro, Sandra Adams, of Decatur, and Cathi Neal, of Decatur; and five great-grandchildren.
