(Temple, TX) – The Temple Parks Foundation’s Movies in the Park series will officially kick off at sundown on Saturday, May 28 at Miller Park (1919 N. 1st Street.) featuring the 3-D animated comedy film, Minions, sponsored by McLane Children’s Scott & White in Temple.
“This is a fantastic anniversary of 10 years of Movies in the Park,” said Allan Einboden, Temple Parks Foundation President. It is wonderful to partner with McLane Children’s to present Minions. McLane Children’s will also provide some entertaining activities for the kids before the movie begins. We look forward to having everybody join us for this fun and free event.”
Ever since the dawn of time, the Minions have lived to serve the most despicable of masters. From T. rex to Napoleon, the easily distracted tribe has helped the biggest and the baddest of villains. Now, join protective leader Kevin, teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob on a global road trip where they’ll earn a shot to work for a new boss – the world’s first female super-villain, and try to save all of Minionkind…from annihilation. Minions is rated PG.
The movie will be projected on a 30 x 17 foot high definition screen featuring a sound system that rivals any indoor movie theater experience. The screen and presentation of the movie are provided by Grand Avenue Theater.
“Movies in the Park has become a favorite summertime tradition here in Temple,” said Kevin Beavers, Temple Parks & Recreation Director. “We are pleased that the Temple Parks Foundation is again producing this event – something they have done since 2006.”
Pre-movie activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with the movie starting at sunset. Movies in the Park is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Concessions will be available for purchase. Other movies shown during the series include: Raiders of the Lost Ark on June 18 at Bend o’ the River (7915 S. General Bruce Dr.) sponsored by H-E-B and The Good Dinosaur on July 23 at West Temple Park (121 Montpark Rd.) sponsored by Sam’s Club in Temple.
