Natha Jean Wetzel Grigsby

Funeral services for Natha Jean Wetzel Grigsby, of Salado, were held at Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel in Belton April 30, 2011.  Services were officiated by Pastor Billy Johnson.  Burial followed in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill. 

Natha died  on April 27, 2011.  She was born on February 9, 1962 in Austin, Texas to Nathan Morris Wetzel and Margot Moore Wetzel.  She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Margot Lynne Wetzel Rebovich; a nephew, Joe Nathan Rebovich; maternal grandparents, J.D. and Grace Moore; and paternal grandparents, Burley and Charlene Harris.

Grigsby graduated from Liberty Hill High School in 1979 and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1982.

        Natha was married to Joe C. Grigsby on June 12, 1981.  They had two sons, Nathan Aaron Grigsby and Barton Lee Grigsby.  

Natha was a Supervisory Management Analyst and Chief Directorate of Logistics in the Program Management Office at Fort Hood.  She received the Achievement Medal for Civil Service, Superior Civilian Award and the Civilian Developmental Leadership Award.  Natha was a key team member contributing to the Directorate of Logistics and Fort Hood receiving the Army’s Community of Excellence award, Texas Quality Award, Government Technology Award, and many others.  She was an advocate of the Hood Hero program.  She also assisted teaching customer service classes to the Garrsion personnel and affected not only DOL but all of the Garrison.  She was the picture of customer service.

Survivors include her husband, Joe C. Grigsby, and two sons, Nathan Aaron Grigsby and Barton Lee Grigsby, of Salado; her mother, Margot Wetzel, and a sister, Ruth Michele Wetzel, of Liberty Hill; two nephews, Kristopher Kelly of Liberty Hill, and John Christopher Grigsby of Salado; and two nieces, Patricia Ann Grigsby of Salado, and Marie Anette Grigsby of Nolanville.

Pallbearers were Joe Grigsby, Nathan Grigsby, Barton Grigsby, and Bill Grigsby, of Salado; Tom Dannelley of Waco, Richard McDonald Sr. of Belton, Richard McDonald Jr. of Leander, and John McDonald of Belton.
