Pollard passes away April 4 in nursing home
L.E. (Ed) Pollard, Jr., age 80, of Salado died Wednesday, April 4, 200 I at a Harker Heights nursing home. Graveside services were held April 10 at Oakwood Cemetery m Waco, with Rev. Doug Tucker officiating.
Arrangements were made by Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey of Waco.
Mr. Pollard was born November 2, 1920 in Ogle by, Texas. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945 and was a B25 pilot. He attended the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio and Baylor University, Waco, Texas. He graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in 1949. Employed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation from 1953 until his retirement in 1987. At that time he was Regional Sales Manager for the Architectural Systems Division of Westinghouse. He was resident of Dallas from 1957 until 1993 before moving to Salado, Texas for retirement.
He enjoyed playing golf at Mill Creek Country Club until his health declined. He was a member of Salado Masonic Lodge No. 296 and Salado Lions Club.
He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Myrnell Lewis Pollard, son, Michael Edward Pollard of Dallas, laughter, Vicki Lee Rianes and husband, Tim of Temple, grandchildren, Justin Cole and Jamie Cole, sister, Margaret Pollard McMullen of McGregor, and many nieces and nephews.
