Staff Sgt. Quadi S. Hudgins
FORT HOOD, Texas – The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation New Dawn.
Staff Sergeant Quadi S. Hudgins, 26, of New Orleans, La., died April 2 in Babil, Iraq, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his position with indirect fire.
Hudgins joined the military in June 2003 as a radio and communications security repairer and was assigned to the Maintenance Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, since June 2010.
Hudgins deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from October 2005 to September 2006.
Hudgins’ awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Commendation, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbons, Air Assault Badge, and Basic Marksman Qualification Badge.
