Ralph M Rice, Jr. of Ingleside and formerly of Salado passed away November 29, 2023 at Gulf Pointe Nursing Facility in Rockport. He was 91 at the time of his death.

He was born to Ralph and Mary Rice on July 3, 1932 in Rockport, Texas. 

He married Larrine Little on April 11, 1959 in Aransas Pass.

A graduate of Boerne High School, he was also graduated from Southwest Texas University and Sul Ross University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Education and Biology.

He served the nation in the U.S. Navy, wheass rabored the USS El Dorado flagship during the Korean War.

He was a professor at Blinn Junior College for eight year and a teacher and coach in public school for 26 years. He taught and coached in Salado from 1975 to 1978. He retired from education in 1996.

A Past Master of Salado Masonic Lodge #296, he received his 50 Year Service award from the Grand Lodge of Texas in October 2021.

He is survived by Larrine Rice, his wife of 64 years and three daughters: Amy Rice-Gonzales and husband Carlos of Ingleside, Serena Abbott and husband Bruce of Hutto and Beth Rice, also of Ingleside. He is also survived by his brother Charles A. Rice of Floresville. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Rice and his son Ralph (Trey) M. Rice, III.

The service will be held at First Christian Church of Aransas Pass, Time and Date TBA Pastor David Dear will officiate.
