Salado Lady Eagles lost district softball games to two ranked opponents last week: Lampasas and Liberty Hill.

Liberty Hill scored 10 runs off of 10 hits to throttle Salado 10-1 in a district game March 27, dropping the Lady Eagles to 10-5 and 1-2 in district.
Salado had seven hits, including two by Malory Schattle, but none were for extra bases, and the girls left seven runners on base.
Lindy Martin scored the single run for Salado. An error by first baseman Samantha Junkin allowed Martin to turn the corner and get to second base. The Lady Panthers retired the next two batters and Schattle hit a single to deep right to score Martin. Kristen Oakes followed with a single to put runners at first and second, but pitcher Nicole Thiem got her second of three strikeouts to retire the frame.
The #3-ranked Lady Panthers scored five runs in the first. Lynsey Martin singled and went to second on the throw. Payton Walker hit a sacrifice fly and Mitchell scored on a single by Joely Williamson. A pop-up to third gave Liberty Hill two outs. Junkin reached on a fielder’s choice, but an error catching the throw to second allowed Williamson to reach second. A single by Haylee Park loaded the bases when Baylie Bevers hit a ball to deep right, where the outfielder’s error allowed the three base runners to score.
In the second, Mitchell singled and Walker knocked her home on a triple before Junkin hit a two-run homer with two outs.
The Lady Panthers added a run in the third when Bevers singled, went to second on a passed ball and scored on an error.
Bevers scored again in the fifth. She doubled and scored on a single to center by Jenna Kieschnick.
Meagan Hill got the loss for Salado, pitching two innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs, four of them earned.
Tindell pitched in relief, striking out two batters, giving up three hits and allowing two runs, one of them earned.

The Lampasas Lady Badgers tallied 16 hits on Salado pitcher Bailey Tindell to beat the Lady Eagles at home 12-3 on March 24.
Lampasas scored a run in the first and four in the third inning, but exploded for five runs in the final inning against Salado.
Salado scored a run in the first and two in the fourth.
With one out in the first, Meagan walked and scored on a triple to deep center by Malory Schattle. Schattle was left stranded on third.
Schattle walked in her at-bat in the fourth inning and went to second on a walk to Jenna Calder. Schattle scored on a single by Madeline Murray.
Payton Dreitz was hit by a pitch to load the bases and a walk issued to Stephanie Mancilla scored Calder.
Lampasas pitcher Reagan Dunn recorded 12 strikeouts in the game and gave up just four hits.
