Services for Raymond George Pastie, 79, Salado, will be 11 a.m. April 12 at the Historic Chapel of Salado United Methodist Church starting at 10am. Officiating will be Billy Johnson begin at 11am.
Ray died on April 7, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 22, 1934 to Frank and Lena Pastie of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Ray graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School in 1952. He served in the Navy as an electrician from 1953-1957.
Ray began his career in 1960 and became a pioneer in the cable television industry, which took him all over the country. He met Judy Marriott, in Colorado Springs and they were married. Ray was an avid golfer who recorded four hole-in-ones, three of them at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife in 2006. He is survived by three daughters, Melody Colasuonno (Bob) of Henderson, NV, Pam Halbrooks (Michael) of McKinney, TX and Cherie Locke (Jeff) of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Luke, Chelsea, Madeline and Trevor, a sister Shirley Poling, and a brother, Paul Pastie, of Massachusetts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
Following the service will be a celebration of Ray’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice.
Services are in the care of Broecker Funeral Home, Salado.
