Ruth Anna Erika Pflum

Ruth Pflum of Salado passed away on July 12, 2020. Ruth Anna Erika Kuhnl was born on April 20, 1939 to parents Josef and Margareta Kuhnl in Duppau, Sudentenland, Germany.

In 1946, following WWII, Ruth moved with her family to West Germany. In 1965 Ruth met and married U.S. Army soldier Ronald Pflum.

Their daughter Michelle was born in 1972 while they lived in Germany. The Pflums moved to Salado in 1982 and Ruth lived in Salado for the remainder of her life. Ruth was widowed in 1987 and raised Michelle as a single mother for many years.

Ruth worked for many years at the Mill Creek Golf Club and was very active and outgoing in the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Pflum and her parents Josef Karl Kuhnl and Margareta Maria Kuhnl.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Dan McQueen; her sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Ray Taylor; her sister, Heidi Fratus; her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Martina Kuhnl; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Services are in the care of Broecker Funeral Home, Salado.
