Salado varsity Eagles soccer team beat the Taylor Ducks 3-0 in the bidistrict round of the playoffs, earning a trip to Fredericksburg High School to face Bandera at 8 p.m. April 2.
Bandera is the fourth place team in District 28AAAA and has a record of 13-13-2 and 7-4-1 in District play. Bandera had a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
Forward Costas Loullis and Outside Midfielder Armando Castillo each scored a goal for the Eagles. Midfielder John Dawson scored a goal on a penalty kick for Salado. Midfielders Manuel Magadan and Christian Martinez each contributed an assist in the game.
“Winning an upset against a talented Taylor team validates all of the hard work these players have put in this season,” Coach Michael Goos said. “This is a very exciting team to watch because they play with a true passion for the game.”
