Boys place third, girls place fourth in Pro-Fit Invitational
The Salado H.S. cross country teams competed Sept. 2 in the Pro-Fit Invitational Meet at Wilson Park in Temple, where the varsity boys placed third and the varsity girls placed fourth.
“The teams performed well on a very hilly and challenging course,” girls coach Corey Baird said.
The Eagles Varsity boys team finished third out of 11 teams. Leading the Eagles was senior Luke Markham who placed 15th with a time of 19:12. The rest of the Eagles finished as follows: Chase Harwell, 18th 19:27.0, Wade Woods, 21st, 19:39.6, Horacio Huerta, 23rd, 19:43.1, Hunter Haas, 29th, 20:06.0, Manuel Magadan, 41st, 21:32.7, Seth Neal, 50th, Ryan Trenholm, 65th, 22:29.9.
The Lady Eagles varsity team finished fourth out of 11 teams.
Leading the Lady Eagles was freshman Catalina Langlitz who finished 18th with a time of 14:38. Rebecca Gonzales finished right close behind finishing 19th with a time of 14:40. The rest of the Lady Eagles finished as follows; Regina Deen, 34th, 14:58.2, Annie Ewton, 42nd 15:19.0, Taylor Rich, 46th, 15:29.9, Ansley Flowers, 50th, 15:34.4 and Katie Kendall 54th, 15:39.2.
The Lady Eagles JV team finished second out of 8 teams.
Cassidy Brown led the JV girls with a third place finish. Followed by: Natalie McBryde, seventh, Cuyler Aycock 23rd, Erin McBryde 24th, Olivia Sula 25th, Reagan Morreale 26th, Jessie Laverdiere 30th and Maritza Villafranco 42nd.
“This was a great first meet effort for the cross country teams,” boys Coach Michael Goos said. “We look forward to competing at Liberty Hill.”
