The Salado FC U11 Boys competed in the South Texas Cup State Finals this weekend at the Mission City Soccer Complex in San Antonio, Texas, April 30-May 1.
This was a Round Robin tournament with total points deciding first through fourth place at the State level.
In the first game against CYFSA Pena (Cypress, TX), Salado tied 1–1. Morgan Adams scored the Salado goal.
Salado beat Bastrop 5-0 in the second game. Morgan Adams, Jackson Husung, and Jackson Bragg scored the goals in this win.
Salado beat Leander Galaxy 1-0 in the third game. This match confirmed Salado as the first place in the Western District of the South Texas Cup. Cody Coker scored the winning goal.
Goalkeepers Jackson Bragg and Daniel Chtay allowed only one goal to be scored in three games.
The final finish was CYFSA and Salado tied for points from the overall records, and tied in their head-to-head match. CYFSA had one more point based on Goal Differentials from the summation of games, placing them first after the ‘tie-breaker’ evaluation. Salado FC U11 boys placed second in the State Finals overall.
The players received first place district and second place State Finals medals at the conclusion of their last game.
