To the Editor:
If true, as media reported, it is indeed a rare occurrence when art reflects reality in such a perfect fashion! Salado’s infamous ‘reverend-mayor’ is portraying “Scrooge” in a local rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol.’
Scrooge has contempt for elements of Christmas in the story. In a like manner, the ‘reverend-mayor’, has contempt for many of his local electorate and taxpayer citizens…who knows, as did Scrooge, the ‘reverend-mayor’ may find ‘redemption’ in his political prostitution at the altar known as “Thee Sanctuary”…his hands sure seem to be out for “Thee Stinckuary”… ‘under the table’, of course.
One difference from the Dickens’ story is Scrooge acted solo…. in the reverend-mayor’s possible, financial ‘redemption’, he is aided and abetted by a merry band of posterior-kissing, mercenaries, also known as the Salado Board of Aldermen (SBOA). “ Now, all hands under the table please…we’re voting”!
Art and prostitution politics-sometimes, one and the same story…Thanks, for giving US, the citizen/voter/ taxpayers of Salado, the royal ‘Scrooge job’, Mayor Scrooge & the merry band of SBOA henchmen…
