Salado One-Act Play returns to regional competition in Corpus Christi on April 20 after placing second in the Area round of competition behind rival Lampasas.
Salado’s performance of The Christmas Truce by Phil Porter, is the debut of this play written about the 1914 World War I event in which soldiers on the German side and British side ended up joining together for Christmas eve celebration that included a friendly game of football and an exchange of gifts.
Hayden Ebeling was named to the All-Star Cast for his portrayal of Bruce Bairnsfather. William Macek received Honorable Mention for his portrayal of Stanley Liggins. William Arnett, sound technician for Salado, earned a medal as the Outstanding Technician for his work on the play.
Salado is well-known throughout the state for its One Act Play program.
Since 2000, SHS has appeared at the State Finals seven times:

•2013 – Conference 2A 2nd Runner-up – The Boys of Winter (Directors: J. J. Jonas and Kyra Mann)
•2014 – Conference 2A First Runner-up –5/11 (Directors: J. J. Jonas and Kyra Mann)
•2015 – Conference 4A First Runner-up – The Book of Everything – J.J. Jonas, Kyra Mann, and Dixie Darling McCollough.
