Village of Salado Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019. The call came from family members who discovered the body of a 13 year old at their home.
Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman pronounced the young man dead after responding to the call shortly after 12:30 p.m. He ordered an autopsy to be performed.
Police Chief Pat Boone said that the Salado Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of the young man, but provided no other details at this time.
“Counselors will be available at the schools to meet with students individually and in groups tomorrow as well as over the coming days and weeks,” Dr. Novotny stated in the email. “Please contact the school office if you feel your child is in need of additional assistance; we have a list of school and community mental health resources.”
There is no announcement yet of a service for the young man. Salado Village Voice will post that announcement as soon as possible.
“If your child wishes to attend, we strongly encourage you to accompany him or her to the service,” Dr. Novotny stated. “If the funeral is scheduled during school hours, students who wish to attend will need parental permission to be released from school.”
