Lady Eagles breezing through competition
Salado Lady Eagles have been on a tear lately, stretching a string of six September sweeps of their opponents, including Waco Connally on Sept. 22 and the Taylor Lady Ducks Sept. 25 to begin District 254A play.

Salado opened district play Sept. 25 in a convincing way, beating the Taylor Lady Ducks in three straight at home.
The girls had nine aces from the service line, led by Malory Schattle and Meagan Hill, who had three each and Kierstan Osborn, two aces and Cheyen Vaca, one ace.
Vaca led the offense with 9 kills attacking the net. Schattle followed with seven kills. Tori Dekay had three kills and Brianna Washington had two.Hill had all 21 assists in the game.
Defensively, Schattle led the girls with three blocks. Hill had two block and Washington and Payton Dreitz each had one.
Schattle also led the team with 13 digs, followed by Kerrigan Hearne’s 10 digs. Also recording digs were Lindy Martin and Meagan Hill, nine digs each, Vaca, eight digs, Dekay, seven digs, Osborn, three digs, and Washington, two digs.

Salado swept Connally in their last game leading up to district play in a road match, dominating their opponent who scored only 37 total points Sept. 22.
Three Lady Eagles had two aces each: Kerrigan Hearne, Kierstan Osborn and Meagan Hill. Malory Schattle and Cheyenne Vaca had one ace each.
Salado had 31 kills at the net, led by Schattle’s and Tori Dekay’s eight-kill efforts. Vaca followed with seven kills, Payton Dreitz had six kills and Brianna Washington had two kills.
Schattle crushed the Connally attack with five blocks. Meagan Hill, Dekay and Dreitz had one block each.
Vaca and Kerrigan Hearne contributed 12 digs each on defense while Lindy Martin had 11 digs. Also recording digs for Salado were Osborn, Schattle, Dekay and Hill, eiach eachs, Washington, five and Amy Coleman, two.
Hill had 31 assists in the contest.
