Salado JV Eagles beat Academy 15-6 Sept. 19 to improve to 2-2.

Max Gist returned the opening kick off 80 yards for a touchdown. 

Gist also ran in a touchdown from the 2-yard line. Gist hit Hays Ramsey for a two-point conversion.

Defensively Salado had sacks in the first half by Connor Cooper, John Swanner, Phillip Swanner, and Jackson Tipton that all led to huge stops. In the second half, Salado forced Academy to punt at critical moments with the game in the balance due to big sacks by Phillip Swanner, and Connor Cooper, a tackle for loss by John Swanner, and consistent coverage on the backend by Luke Leiskau and Casen Harrell. We played sound defense throughout the afternoon and where able to limit what Academy was able to do. Owen Piatt led the team in tackles.

Salado ninth graders shut out the Granger JV 35-0 Sept. 19.

The Eagles scored twice in the first quarter, twice in the second quarter and once in the third quarter.

Zack Adcox had rushing touchdowns of four and five yards.

Jackson Tracy had two receiving touchdowns, one of 28 yards and another of 42 yards.

Wyatt Tipping had a receiving touchdown from 6 yards out.

Quarterback  Ryder Balmos was a perfect 7-7  with four TD passes.

Leading the defense were Landon Oswald and Ulises Soto, who each had several tackles and Talon Lutz, who recovered a fumble.

Salado eight grade A beat Academy A team 53-8 Sept. 19.

Roman Howard scored first, on a 45-yard run, the PAT failed, 6-0.

Academy answered and converted the PAT for an 8-6 lead before Salado scored 47 unanswered points.

Howard returned the kick off 80 yards. Easton Jones ran in the PAT for 13-8 lead.

Howard scored on a 60-yard run, the PAT failed, 19-8.

Chase Anderson hit Easton Jones for a 45-yard TD pass. Tristan Oliver dove in for the conversion, 26-8.

Howard scored on a 55-yard run, but the conversion failed, 32-8.

Anderson ran in from 4 yards out. Matthew Johnson ran in the PAT for a 39-8 lead.

Zane Doroh returned an interception 32 yards for a TD. Johnson scored the PAT, 46-8.

Doroh had a 25-yard interception for a TD. Oliver scored the conversion for the final lead of 53-8.

Salado seventh grade A team beat their Academy counterparts 26-7 on the road Sept. 19.

Ethan Barnes scored on a 51 yard run, followed by a PAT by Luke Adcox. Luke Adcox scored on a seven yard run. The PAT failed for a 13-0 lead.

Luke Adcox scored on a 10-yard run, the PAT failed.

Wesley Law hit Camden Yawn for a 55-yard pass. Ethan Barnes converted the PAT for a 26-0 lead.

Academy scored late in the game.

Salado eighth grade B shut out Academy 27-0 Sept. 19.

Noah Sifuentez scored on a 5-yard run, the PAT failed.

Hunter Harrison hit Tristyn Hernandez for a 10-yard pass. Holt Peterson converted the PAT for a 13-0 lead.

Peterson scored on a 50-yard run. Hunter Harrison hit Mason Yawn for the conversion and a 20-0 lead.

Hernandez scored on an 8-yard run. Peterson carried in the PAT for the final score 27-0.
