King Henry VIII is looking for a new queen
Waxahachie– The fun begins this Saturday, April 5, 2014 as Scarborough Renaissance Festival® opens its 34th season! The festival’s King Henry VIII is looking for a new queen and visitors are invited to come experience the unforgettable adventure at Scarborough Renaissance Festival® with new performers, new mermaids, new crafts, new shoppes and of course, food fit for a king!
Discover Scarborough Renaissance Festival’s® newest special event, “Breakfast with Royalty”, which will take place on Saturday. Children of all ages (and their parents too) can come have an intimate visit with Scarborough’s Royal Court while enjoying a complete scrumptious breakfast. King Henry VIII might even make an appearance! The breakfast will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 5th. Seating is limited. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased in advance at SRFestival.com
New for 2014, adult visitors can now enjoy twice Daily Beer Tastings at the Dirty Duck Pub. The tastings will feature a special selection of craft beers from around the world and a food paring. Tickets for the tastings are $25 per person and include a souvenir pint glass. Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased in advance at SRFestival.com Must be 21 to attend.
Come meet the mermaids in the newly expanded Mermaid Lagoon! Visitors can also enjoy Scarborough Renaissance Festival’s® new 2014 performers Deante’ Fettuccine (the spaghetti juggler), Dr. LeRue (magic with a twist) and the Ginger Juggler along with their perennial favorites like the full combat jousting, Birds of Prey, Don Juan and Miguel, Daniel Duke of Danger and Tartanic (bagpipers) on 21 stages and in the lanes throughout the festival.
Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is inviting children to come to the festival for FREE all weekend – April 5 & 6! Up to three children (12 and under) can get in free with each paid adult. In addition, Seniors (65 & up) can also get an extra break on the ticket price and get in for only $12 all weekend – that’s half the regular adult rate.

The 34th Annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival® opens April 5th and will run every Saturday & Sunday and Memorial Day Monday rain or shine, from 10 AM to 7 PM for eight consecutive weekends through May 26, 2014. Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is interactive fun for everyone, 16th Century style with 21 stages, hundreds of costumed characters, 200 Shoppes, artisan demonstrations, Renaissance Rides, games of skill and food fit for a king!
Located in Waxahachie, Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is just 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on FM 66 off of I-35E at exit 399A. From Austin or Waco, follow I-35E north to Exit 399.
Admission is $24 for adults and $10 for children, ages 5-12 . Children age 4 and under are admitted free. Parking is free compliments of Waxahachie Autoplex.
