Fort Hood announced the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Jeffrey Alexander Reed, 23, of Chesterfield, Virginia, died March 2 2009 in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by a grenade in Taji, Iraq.
Reed joined the military in August 2004 as a Military Police Officer and was assigned to the 411th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade since January 2005.
He deployed to Iraq in January 2008.
Sergeant Reed’s decorations and awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
