Sgt. Timothy Allen David
Fort Hood announced the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Timothy Allen David, of Gladwin, Michigan, died June 28, 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered earlier in Sadr City, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
David joined the military in April 2001 as an Infantryman and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since February 2006. David deployed to Iraq in December 2008.
David’s military awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
