To the Editor:
We are the only RV park in Salado that tell, show and hand out the Jewel magazine book to folks that stay here.
We have lost money (income) over this construction time by two-thirds of what we could have received and more from the loss of drive-by, some do not stop because of the difficult exit.
My suggestion with all due respect is to ask for signage as part of a grant from the state. Texas Logo sign has increased the monthly/yearly cost and the set up printing fee. Those of us who stayed through the tough times need, deserve, a info and exit/ramp sign to get folks off the highway and to our stores.
Five years of signage would be fair and I would think the big billboards would help, too, to get people here from off the highway. General signage on billboards with the type of stores, they would not have to have names just general info, i.e. winery, restaurants, shops, rv park, and the like. You can get business signs to help promote your business.
When people see the blue information sign they know to exit and take a break, rest or stay a night.
Just my thoughts on helping Salado recover.
