Jacob Little’s solo home run in the fourth inning, gave the Salado Eagles a 2-0 advantage over the Burnet Bulldogs in their district home game April 2. The Eagles held on to win 2-1.
Cody Wolf allowed five hits in his fourth win on the mound for Salado as Burnet scored an earned run in the sixth inning.
Burnet’s Colton Barksdale singled to lead off the sixth and went to second on a passed ball. Mason Campbell grounded out to second baseman Little to move Fisher to third. Taylor Barksdale grounded out to short to score C. Barksdale.
Salado scored in the first when Keaton Mims led off the bottom of the inning with a walk. He went to second on a passed ball and Chase Basham went to first on a walk before Cody Wolf laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners with one out. Little flied out to deep right to score Mims after he tagged up at third.
Mims, Zach Marsh, Garrett Lightfoot and Wolf all hit singles in the game.
