Spc. Christopher Milton Kurth
Fort Hood officials announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Christopher Milton Kurth, 23, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died June 4 2009 in Kirkuk, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by an anti-tank grenade.
Kurth entered the Army in June 2005 as a Food Service Specialist. He was
assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since December 2005.
Specialist Kurth deployed to Iraq January 2009.
Specialist Christopher Kurth’s awards and decorations include the Purple
Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good
Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal,
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
