Spc. Jeremiah Paul McCleery
Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He died from wounds sustained after being shot by enemy forces in Mosul, Iraq on May 2 2009.
Spc. Jeremiah Paul McCleery, 24, of Portola, California, a Fire Support Specialist, entered the military in June 2007. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since December 2007.
McCleery deployed to Iraq December 2008.
Specialist McCleery’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.
