To the Editor:
I have lived in many cities, large and small, towns and Villages. I don’t believe in any, except for Salado, where the stopping or parking of vehicles on the pavement of the street with no lights or other means to indicate the vehicle is stopped with impunity. This is done every day in Salado by automobiles, trucks, repair and delivery vehicles.
In a Village like Salado, where there are many trees that cast shade on the road, mixed with bright sunlight, produces a hazard because they are difficult to see, especially dark-colored vehicles and trailers.
It would seem some ordinance would be in place so that the police on their rounds could ticket vehicles in violation thereof.
For safety, I would that if there is no such ordinance, the Village would develop one for the safety of our citizens, visitors and others doing business in Salado. Gate
Sincerely
Jack Hardin
