The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, the Grinch and the Whos in Whoville are some of the Dr. Seuss characters taking the stage this summer at Temple Civic Theatre. And the theatre is looking for people to portray these beloved characters in “Seussical the Musical.”
Open public auditions will be Sunday and Monday, May 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at the theatre. There are many roles for men, women and children (first grade and older). One of the leading characters, JoJo, is a young boy (grades 2-6).
The director will be Sara Harris Baker, director of choral activities at Temple College, who has directed several previous theatre productions. Choreographer will be JoAnna Langthorn, dance teacher at Temple College who appeared in the Broadway production of “A Chorus Line.”
Applications to work on the technical crews will also be taken during auditions.
You do not have to be a member of Temple Civic Theatre to audition. Rehearsals are typically Sunday through Thursday evenings except the weekend before opening night. Performance dates are July 8-10, 14-17, 22-23. This fun family musical is sponsored by CEFCO.
Temple Civic Theatre is located at 2413 S. 13th St., behind the Summit Recreation Center. More information is on the theatre website, www.TempleCivicTheatre.org
