Tempe Noel Cabaniss

Tempe Noel Cabaniss, age 88 of Salado, passed away on September 5, 2023 in Temple, Texas.

He was born in Temple to Earl Claude and Susie Griffith Cabaniss. 

Services will be 2 p.m. Sept. 25 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with burial to follow at Bell Plains Cemetery, Military Honors will be rendered at the graveside. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He married Lois Smith on June 23, 1961 in Radcliff, Kentucky.

After graduating from Salado High School, he attended West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M) in Canyon.

He was in the U.S. Army from December 1958 to March 1962. He worked for Olin Chemical Corp. in Brandenburg, Kentucky from 1962 until retirement in 1990, when he and his wife moved to Salado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Leah Gail Cabaniss Buzzard.

He is survived by his sister Claudia Cabaniss of Salado and two brothers Dennis Cabaniss of Salado and Boyce Cabaniss of Lampasas. 

He is also survived by his daughters, Kari Hinds and her husband Glenn of Rineyville, Kentucky and Lisa Clement and husband Benny of Salado., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a member of the 15th St. Church of Christ in Temple.
