To the Editor:
My family and I were in a terrible car accident in Bastrop County on Nov. 27. Our daughter, Addie, was taken by helicopter to Brackenridge in Austin while Rick and I were brought in by ambulance.
Within minutes of a phone call to our pastor and a Facebook post, we were surrounded with community outreach. To say we felt supported and loved by Salado is such an understatement. The Superintendent of schools, our church pastors and deacons, teachers, friends and of course family, were with us and on standby to help us in anyway we needed.
I know we live in a special place. I know we have excellent schools. And I know our churches have the biggest hearts. However, during the darkest moments of our lives, this truth became very real to us. I do not know what we would have done without the immediate reach-out by so many.
So, again, Thank You, Salado. The Ashe Family will never forget how you were there for us that very scary night in November.
With Salado Love,
Shannon Ashe
