Jack E. Thompson passes away Aug. 27

Jack E. Thompson, 81, of Salado, passed away Aug. 27 at Scott & White Hospital. A memorial visitation was held Aug. 28; a private family service will be held at a later date.

He was born July 10, 1925 in Cameron, to Jasper Ervin and Mattie Bernice (Richey) Thompson. He attended Rogers High School and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Thompson joined the U.S. Navy and served as a medic during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Salado. He made his career in media advertising.He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Estelle (Baggett) Thompson; daughter, Tawana Dunham; son, Jack Erice Thompson; and daughter Lee Ann Bott, as well as eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Scott & White Cardiology Unit in Temple.
