It took two overtime period to put an end to the Salado Eagles soccer season, as they lost to Bandera in the Area game April 2 in Fredericksburg.
Salado held a 1-0 lead in the game when Bandera was given a penalty kick that shifted the game.
After two overtime periods, Bandera scored a goal that the Eagles couldn’t answer.
“This has been an amazing season and this team has developed a tremendous work ethic based on the standards set by our departing seniors,” Coach Michael Goos said of the team.
Forward Daniel Magadan scored the single goal for Salado in the game. Goalkeeper Luis Pena defended seven shots on goal during the game.
Also having outstanding games in the Eagles’ finale were Defensive Midfielder JP Michael and Defender Cameron Markham.
“The boys played this game with true grit and heart,” Goos said.
The Eagles ended the season with a 10-12 record overall; 2-4 district.
