Vandegrift 11

Salado lost to Vandegrift in their final game of the Leander ISD Tournament, falling 11-6 on March 5.

Vandegrift scored two runs in the bottom of the first, but Salado tied the game in the top of the second with two runs.

Garrett Lightfoot singled. Tate Harvey reached on an error and both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt by C McKinney. With two outs, Phillip Ellis hit a shot to left field and a fielding error allowed both runners to score.

Vandegrift added a run in the bottom of the second for a 3-2 lead.

Salado took the lead with three runs in the third. With one out, Cody Wolf doubled. He scored on a single by Drew Dobbins. Garrett Lightfoot doubled to score Dobbins and scored on a single by Harvey.

With a run in the third, six in the fourth and one in the fifth, Vandegrift pulled away.

The Eagles scored a run in the seventh. Wolf was hit by the pitcher and went to second on a Dobbins single. Lightfoot was hit by the pitcher to load the bases and Harvey singled to score Wolf.
