Rotary dedicates flags at cemetery
On November 11, Veteran’s Day, the Rotary Club of Salado will be dedicating 5 flag poles at the Salado Cemetery, located Baines Street, just off of Royal Street. The dedication service will start at 2:00 p.m.
The speaker will be Col. Rich Kaye (Retired) who is also the future Governor of Rotary District 5870.
The flags, one for each branch of the service, ( Marine Corp, Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard ) will be raised ceremoniously with music from the Salado High School band.
“We are honored to assist the Salado Cemetery Association in recognizing the service of our veterans and their families. Dedicating these flag poles along with the appropriate flags is a small way to say thank you.” Mary Hanik, President of the Salado Rotary Club said.
“Veteran’s Day is the appropriate time to honor veterans of all wars and recognize the sacrifices made by our armed forces during wartime and peacetime.” Hanik added.
The public is invited to attend.
