With a 3-0 shutout of China Spring Jan. 20, the Salado Lady Eagles varsity soccer team remains undefeated with a 9-0 record. They play Smithville on Jan. 30 and played Lorena on Jan. 27 after presstime for this edition.
Sara Wilkerson, forward, scored all three goals for the ladies. Carly Nichols, defender, had an assist on a throw-in. Daniela Gantenbein, forward also had an excellent game, according to coach Karen Ewton.
“The girls continue their streak of wins,” Coach Ewton said. “They are working together extremely well, and are very focused on having a successful season.”
JV Lady Eagles
Salado JV Lady Eagles are 1-1 after beating the Killeen Lady Roos 1-0 at Eagle Stadium on Jan. 19.
Forward Rylie Stewart scored a goal on an assist from outside midfielder Raghnild Belel. Defenders Taylor Schoenrock and Caitlyn Foster helped the girls record the shutout.
“The JV girls scored their first win of the season in regulation play,” Coach Ewton said. “I’m extremely proud of the progress this group of girls has made in a short period of time. It is a great group to work with.”
The girls play Smithville Jan. 30.
