Services for Willis Edward Morgan, 88 are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013 with interment at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, TX. starting at 1PM, Memorial Service at Detroit Assembly of God at 2PM and fellowship follows the service.
Willis Edward Morgan passed from this life April 15, 2013 in Salado.
He was born April 18, 1924 to Edward and Jenny Morgan in Detroit, Texas. After graduation from high school he became a glazier.
He met Yvonne Nelms and they married on May 14, 1945. His work took him to Hawthorne Nevada where they lived for 31 years. He worked at the Naval Depot as a glazier. He also had a great love for cars and owned a Dodge and Chrysler car dealership and later a glass shop.
Willis retired in 1972. After which he moved back to Detroit Texas where he raised cattle and grew hay. He was very fond of restoring older model cars and this became a hobby instead of an occupation. His favorite cars were a 1931 Model A roadster, two 1965 Mustangs and a Ranchero.
He is preceded in death by his wife, his mother and father, three brothers, Ray, Willie and Curtis Morgan.
He is survived by a son, Chuck Morgan and wife Mary Lou of Petrolia ca. and a daughter, Kathryn Lindsay and husband Steve of Salado, five grandsons, Travis, Carson and Brent Morgan, Terry and Shaun Hall. Six great-grandchildren, Tanner, Madison and Blake Morgan, Jude Morgan and Morgan and Andrew Hall. He has several nieces and nephews.
Willis moved to the Temple area in 2008 to be close to his daughter.
