Lady Eagles sweep Hargrave to get to 4A Region III Finals
It’s fitting that senior setter Livia Niu’s third ace of the night was the final point in a three-set sweep of the Huffman Hargrave Lady Falcons, sending the Lady Eagles into the 4A Region III Volleyball finals at noon Sat. Nov. 11. THe Lady Eagles will face Spring Hill, which beat Liberty Hill in the semi-final. Earlier in the week, the senior signed to play volleyball for University of South Florida.
The Lady Eagles swept Hargrave 25-13, 25-18 and 25-18.

Salado Lady Eagles survived a five-set match against Gateway College Prep Nov. 7 at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and will face Huffman Hargrave in the Region Semi-Finals 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Bryan High School.

Wife, mother, grandmother, poet, artist, playwright and community leader, Jacqueline Louise Pytel Mills, 90, died on Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 5, 1933, Jackie was the only child of Jack James Pytel and Martha Louise Posey Pytel. She was doted on by aunts, uncles and her grandmother.

Lady Eagles will face Gateway Prep in Region Quarterfinal
Salado Lady Eagles will face Gateway College Prepratory School in the Region Quarterfinals 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at University of Mary Hardin Baylor Arena after they beat Taylor in four sets in the Area round on Nov. 2.
A win here will launch the Lady Eagles to the Regional Tournament for the second straight year.
Salado lost to Huffman Hargrave last year in the Region Semi-final. Hargrave lost in the state semi-finals to state champion Canyon Randall.
