Leander-Rouse 2

Salado Eagles got past Leander-Rouse by scoring two runs in the top of the 10th inning to win 4-2 in the Leander ISD tournament March 4.

Preston Payne scored a run in the third by leading off with a single. He went to second on a balk and stole third before scoring on a single to right by Cody Wolf.

Grant Taylor scored in the sixth after reaching on an error. He went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ryan Oakes and scored on the throw after Peyton Kyburz singled.

Rouse tied the score in the sixth and both teams struggled through three scoreless innings before Salado took the game in the top of the 10th.

Garrett Lightfoot led off with a single and advanced on a single by Cody Wolf. An error loaded the bases before Ryan Oakes singled to score a runner. Wolf scored on the throw for a 4-2 lead.
