The top-ranked Salado Lady Eagles soccer team are Area Champions after squeezing out a 1-0 win over Wimberley at Fredericksburg on April 2.

Up next for the 23-1 Area Champions are Fredericksburg in the Regional Quarterfinal game at Burger Stadium in Austin slated for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2015.
Forward Reagan Morreale scored the single goal for Salado on an assist from Outside Midfielder Ashlen LaCanne.
Outside Midfielder Katey Ewton and Midfielder China Saxton also had outstanding performances in the game.

“These girls continue to work so well as a team,” Coach Karen Ewton said, “which is a huge advantage and this effort was rewarded last night in our first-ever Area Championship.”
“Our offense was relentless on the attack,” she added, “which allowed midfield and defense to concentrate on shutting down the opposing team’s efforts on goal.”
“We will work hard over the next few days to prepare for the next round,” she added.
