Salado Eagles beat Lorena back-to-back in the Waco ISD Tournament to take third place in the three-day event Feb. 25-27, going 4-1 with a loss in the second round to Harker Heights.
Drew Dobbins and Ryan Oakes were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Salado Eagles held on to hopes of making the playoffs last week despite a home loss to Taylor on Feb. 12. Salado beat Llano and Lampasas to force a fourth place tie with the Badgers. The two will face off in a playoff in Liberty Hill on Feb. 19.
Salado Eagles lost two district basketball games on the road last week, a 52-49 nail biter to the Lampasas Badgers and a 59-84 loss to the state-ranked Taylor Ducks.
Salado Eagles scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to overcome a four-point deficit and beat the Lorena Leopards in a non-district road game Jan. 4. The Eagles won 60-58.

Justin Tatum named to All Tournament Team
Salado Eagles competed in the Uvalde Tournament Dec. 28-29. The Eagles went 2-2 in the tournament and Justin Tatum was named to the All Tournament Team.
Salado Eagles beat Waelder 52-46 on Dec. 21 in a non-district basketball game to improve to 9-7 on the year.
Salado Eagles outlasted the Academy Bees on their home court 41-33 on Dec. 18.
Salado Eagles beat the Robinson Rockets 66-39 in a non-conference home basketball game on Dec. 15.
Preston Rosebrock was perfect at the free throw line, scoring 10 of his game high 29 points there as he led the Salado Eagles past the Horizon Crocs of Australia in the final round of the Jarrell basketball tournament Dec. 12. Salado won 64-53.
The Eagles led 11-8 after the first and 32-23 at the half. Salado led 519 going into the fourth quarter.
Also scoring for Salado were Justin Tatum, 13 points, Trevor Stump, 10 points, Peeyton Kyburz, seven points and Willie Whigham, five points.
