Wildflower Weekend starts on April 1

Salado’s Wildflower Weekend includes art, Texas craft beers, Texas produced wines and live music. Kicking off the third annual event is the Wildflower Pub Crawl on April 1.

The Wildflower Pub Crawl standard ticket includes a passport, collectible stadium cup and a 12 oz fill of the featured beer at each of five stops for $19.95.

The premium ticket adds a sixth stop and a limited edition, hand-blown glass mug from Salado Glassworks to the standard ticket package for $59.95

Each stop on the Wildflower Pub Crawl features a different Texas craft beer. Tickets are limited and the event is for adults 21 and over only. Reserve your ticket at salado.com/events.

Saturday the Wildflower Weekend features a variety of art, food and wine events across the village. The Texas Wine & Rogue Art Fest, The Wildflower Art Fair & Festival and the Edgy Live Art Competition give family friendly opportunities to meet artists, purchase art, sample Texas wines, listen to great music and eat some great food. Admission is free to all.

Edgy Live Art Competition

IMG_7970The third Edgy Live Art Competition will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 2 Peddler’s Alley, next to Salado Glassworks. Featured artists will create works of art as they compete for your vote. Admission is free for the family friendly event. Voting tickets are $10 or 3 for $20. Each voting ticket enters you into the drawing for your favorite artist work.

 

 

Wildflower Art Fair and Festival

The Wildflower Art Fair and Festival is open from Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Salado Civic Center at 230 North Main Street. This year marks the sixteenth year for this event.

Stroll through vendors selling handcrafted art from across the state; woodworking, fine jewelry, original paintings, photography and food.

Texas Wine & Rogue Art Fest

The Texas Wine & rogue Art Fest comes alive  on the grounds of the Salado Winery Company and Salado Wine Seller, 841 N. Main St. Hours are Saturday Noon – 5 p.m. and Sunday noon – 4 p.m. Admission is free, tickets for the wine tasting are $10 for six and include a souvenir wine glass. Additional tickets are $5 for 4.

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon, or two,  of wine tasting and art. Featuring twenty Texas wineries, a tremendous viewing of rogue artists and their works from around Texas, and, of course, delectable foods.

Children and well-behaved pets on leashes are allowed.
