Willicene Kathryn (Gundram) Lewis , age 97, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Stoney Brook Assisted Living in Belton, Texas.
How sweet the sound…” Jerry Donald Sanders of Salado, Texas passed away at his home on September 5, 2022, at age 78. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Sanders, parents, Beulah and James Harvey Sanders and sister, Shirley Guinn. He is survived by his son, Chris Sanders and wife, Kim of Frisco; daughter, D’Ann Autrey and husband, Chad of Salado; sister, Doris Bullard of Salado and grandchildren: Cory and Katelyn Bartek of Salado and Caroline and Kate Sanders of Frisco.
James “Jim” Kirby Mohler II, 60, of Salado passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at a local hospital.
Graveside services for Leone Dipboye, 77, of Belton, were held Aug. 24, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Rev. Jeff Miller officiating.
Ruth Curry San Miguel, 94, of Salado, passed away August 20, 2022 in a Malakoff nursing home. She was 94 years of age.
Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Sol- dier that passed away at his family’s home Dec. 20 in Cuero, Texas.
Pfc. Jordan T. May, 25, of Cuero, Texas was on pre- deployment leave when a family member found him unconscious, and called for an ambulance. He was transported to a local hos- pital but could not be re- vived.
May entered the Army in August 2007 as a Cav- alry Scout. He was as- signed to the 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since Jan- uary 2007. His squadron was scheduled to deploy to Iraq early next year. At the time of his death May had completed a rigorous train- ing regimen in preparation for deployment to include weapons training, vehicle gunnery and training simu-
lating operations in Iraq at the Joint Readiness Train- ing Center at Fort Polk, La.
His medals and awards include the Army Achieve- ment Medal, National De- fense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
He is survived by his mother and father.
The cause of death has not been determined and the incident is under inves- tigation.

Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Dec. 16 2008at Forward Operating Base Ramrod, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a non-combat relat- ed incident. The circum- stances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
Pvt. Colman J. Meadows III, 19, of Senoia, Ga., a Special Electronic Devices Repairer, entered the military in January 2008. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Di- vision, Fort Hood,Texas since September 2008.
Meadows deployed to Afghanistan June 2008.

Visitation and services for Jim Reed, 58, of Salado will be 10:30 AM Saturday December 13 at Broecker Funeral Home.
Jim Reed died December 10, 2008 at a local hospital.
Belton- Funeral services for Linda Billingsley McCaleb, 64, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at Calvary Baptist Church in Temple. Rev. Rick Reed, Rev. Ray Smith, and Rev. Tom Cordova will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
