Services for Vera Leigh Clinard 75 of Temple and formerly of Salado will be at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple February 26, 2010 with Paul Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm with Memorial Services beginning at 2:30 pm. She passed away February 23, 2010.
Services for Marie Butscher, 96, of Temple, formerly of Toms River, New Jersey will be February 21, 2010, at Salado Cemetery with Brady Johnston, associate pastor United Methodist Church, Salado presiding. She died Sunday, December 27, 2009 after a brief illness.

Shelia Blair Taylor 48, of Jonesboro, GA., joined themilitary in November 1998 as a Human Resources Specialist. She was assigned to 79th Battalion (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) since March 2009.

Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died January 14, 2010 from a gunshot wound. Spc. Frank Jackson Schreiber, 22, of Salemburg, North Carolina was pronounced deceased at his off-post residence in Copperas Cove by Justice of the Peace Frank Price.
Services for Dagmar Hooten, 67, of Salado will be a private gathering of friends. Her ashes will be scattered by Jim and Lora Hansen of Killeen.
A twenty-five year survivor of ovarian cancer, Mrs. Hooten died on January 4, 2010 at her residence in Salado. She was born on October 21, 1942 in Berlin, Germany during WWII to Karl Otto Hermann Hans Schultz and Kathe Elsa Lohse.
Belton- Funeral services for Ed Baker, 84, of Salado were held January 12, 2010 at Salado United Methodist Church. Travis Franklin officiated. Interment followed at Salado Cemetery.
Lois Mae Watson Shepperd passed away New Year’s Day, 2010 at the age of 96, in a Belton Nursing Home. She was born on November 10, 1913 to Ausie and Bertie Mae Capps Watson. She was the second oldest in her family of four brothers; Foster, Harold, Dick and Joe Watson and three sisters; Inez Buford, Osie Baker and Josie Cearley. She was the last surviving member of her family.
